our story

Our journey began three years ago when we noticed an increasing number of tired bees visiting our homes. These tiny creatures seemed to know where to find help, and we eagerly stepped in, nursing them back to health. This experience sparked a profound connection with bees and inspired us to create BEEST.inc, a brand dedicated to raising funds for bee conservation through our fitness products.

mission

Our mission at BEEST.inc is simple yet impactful: to support bee conservation efforts worldwide by donating $10 from every purchase to reputable bee conservation groups. By aligning our love for health and fitness with our commitment to saving bees, we aim to create a healthier planet for all.

Why Its Important

Bees are not just a small part of our ecosystem; they are a linchpin. These industrious insects are responsible for pollinating about one-third of the food we eat, including many fruits, vegetables, and nuts. In fact, approximately 75% of the world’s flowering plants and 35% of global crop production depend on animal pollinators, with bees being the primary contributors.

The Importance of Bees:

  • Food Security: Bees contribute to the production of about 70 of the 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world’s population. This includes apples, almonds, cucumbers, and many other crops that are essential to our diets.

  • Economic Value: The global economic value of bees' pollination services is estimated to be between $235 billion and $577 billion annually. This highlights their critical role in agriculture and the global economy.

  • Biodiversity: Bees help maintain the diversity of plant life, which in turn supports a wide range of animal species. This biodiversity is essential for resilient ecosystems that can withstand environmental changes.

Current Threats to Bees:

  • Habitat Loss: Urbanisation, agriculture, and deforestation have led to significant habitat loss for bees. As natural habitats are destroyed, bees lose their food sources and nesting sites.

  • Pesticides: The use of pesticides, particularly neonicotinoids, has been linked to declines in bee populations. These chemicals can disorient bees, impair their ability to forage, and even kill them.

  • Climate Change: Changing climate patterns affect the availability of flowers that bees depend on for food. Unpredictable weather can also disrupt their life cycles and reproductive success.

  • Diseases and Pests: Bees face threats from diseases and pests such as the Varroa destructor mite, which can devastate colonies.

Alarming Statistics:

  • Population Decline: In the United States, beekeepers reported losing 45.5% of their managed honey bee colonies between April 2020 and April 2021. In Europe, nearly one in ten wild bee species faces extinction.

  • Species at Risk: Of the 20,000 known bee species, many are in decline. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists several bee species as endangered.

By supporting bee conservation through BEEST.inc, you are directly contributing to the protection and revitalisation of these essential pollinators. Every dollar donated helps fund research, habitat restoration, and initiatives to reduce the use of harmful pesticides. Together, we can ensure that bees continue to thrive and support the health of our planet.

our commitment

At BEEST.inc, we are committed to transparency, sustainability, and making a tangible impact. We partner with trusted organisations like The Wheen Bee Foundation, The Bee Conservancy, Save The Bees, BeeLife, and the British Bee Charity.
